About the Company
Meez is a thriving online social entertainment community where over eight million registered users create 3D avatars, play games, send mobile greetings, and connect with friends in a compelling web-based virtual world. Meez offers a comprehensive virtual item-based economy, premium subscriptions, and integrated sponsorship options successfully used by top brands such as Nike, Sony, Snapple and Cover Girl.
Company Heritage
Meez was formed in 2004 by digital media executives who foresaw the emergence of avatars as a core expression of digital identity. The company created the first Java-based 3D Avatar system, enabling the export of user identity to social networks such as MySpace and Facebook. The company went on to develop an in-browser virtual world, MeezNation, complete with a digital goods economy, that continues to demonstrate strong growth. Meez acquired Pulse Entertainment in early 2009, and plans to integrate the Pulse messaging services into its portal to offer its eight million subscribers advanced web and mobile messaging capabilities.
