Company Heritage
The company's founder, Bruce Montgomery, has a long track record of bringing successful drugs to market. At his previous company, PathoGenesis, he developed the leading drug for the treatment of Cystic Fibrosis called Tobramycin. Bruce realized that Tobramycin was an incomplete solution for treating CF and that an opportunity existed to develop a complementary antibiotic drug. After an exhaustive search, Bruce found an ideal candidate which would become the lead compound at Corus.
