About Brian

Brian is passionate about working with entrepreneurs to solve big problems and build great companies. He spends most of his time working directly with the entrepreneurs Anthem has backed.

Brian is a Southern California native. He grew up in Palos Verdes and has spent most of his professional career in the Los Angeles area.

At Anthem

Since joining Anthem in 2000, Brian has led successful investments in pioneering companies such as Android (acquired by Google), RFMagic (acquired by Entropic), Planet A.T.E. (acquired by Intersil), and Entropic Communications (NASDAQ: ENTR).

He currently serves on the board of directors of Blurb, CoCoDot, Meez, Viewdle, and Zag. He is an observer on the board of directors at Solarflare Communications and remains active in several other Anthem investments, including Buzz Media and GridIron Software.

Before Anthem

Prior to Anthem, Brian was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company. At McKinsey, Brian specialized in corporate strategy and e-commerce and served CEO level clients in healthcare, semiconductors, media, communications, entertainment, and construction in the U.S., South Africa, and Brazil.

Before business school, Brian served as Manager of Technology Integration at The Prudential. The group Brian managed was responsible for evaluating and integrating emerging technologies.

Educational Background

Brian earned his MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. Brian attended Occidental College in Los Angeles and earned degrees in both Biology and Economics.
